Ghana Bauxite Company Limited has a systematic, documented procedure and process for the identification of its environmental aspects i.e. element of the organization’s activities or services that can interact with the environment and have significant impact. It is hazard/aspect based. The result of this process is the Environmental Aspects and Impact /Risk Register, which adequately communicates environmental risks, hazards and impacts information to management for awareness and action. Besides this process, internal and external audits programmes are carried out to support continual learning, improvement and sharing of best practices. GBC uses the results of the audits to investigate, analyze, document, correct, and improve environmental performance.
